Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Christ serve in eight African countries, five European countries, Canada, and in the U.S. states of Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and New York. Our Regional House is located in Freeport, Illinois.
Their congregation has 98 sisters serving across 24 _parishes in the Diocese of
Mutare Zimbabwe with additional communities in Harare, Malawi, Virginia USA. They are working in some of the worlds remote areas, deeply committed to responding to the needs of the church. The congregations serves those who are suffering in rural areas particularly those lacking access to education.
The purpose of the office of Franciscan Missions is to raise awareness of missions among people in the United States and to collect funds to support Franciscan Missions throughout the world.
The Diocese have witnessed several terrorist attacks by Jihadists on churches, homes, and schools and lamented with compassion for the suffering victims. This group will visit the following parishes: St. Patrick, Delmar; Assumption & St. Patrick (Charlotte);Immaculate Conception Church (Petersville)
The Diocese occupies a total area of 2,884 km2 covering the entire Nandi County government. From the 2019 National population census, the diocese has a total population of approximately, 885,711 with an estimated over 313,655 Catholic, representing 35.4% of the population in the region. Currently, the diocese has 38 parishes with 53 local diocesan priests. One parish was created in September 2025 due to the growing Catholic population.
