The Diocese of Davenport invites pastors, parish leaders, school leaders, catechists, ministry volunteers, parents, and all those interested in supporting persons with disabilities and their families to participate in this diocesan gathering focused on belonging, accessibility, and accompaniment in parish life.
Facilitated by Lynne Chapman, who coordinates disability ministry efforts for the Archdiocese of Dubuque, this gathering is intended to help parishes begin exploring practical and pastoral ways to better welcome and support persons with disabilities and their families within the life of the Church.
Throughout the day, participants will:
Each parish is asked to send at least one representative. Participants may be pastors, principals, parish staff members, catechists, volunteers, parents, or others with an interest in this area of ministry.
Following the gathering, parishes will be encouraged to identify a parish disability advocate or contact person who can help support ongoing communication, resource sharing, and future diocesan collaboration.
